Fifteen years after the publication of Satoshi Nakamoto’s whitepaper outlining a peer-to-peer electronic cash system, Bitcoin has gone mainstream in the United States with the approval and launch of ten spot Bitcoin Exchange Traded Products listed on US stock exchanges. These launches were built on the traction generated by other exchange traded products that were built on futures or trusts listed on the exchanges. These spot ETPs were among the most successful product launches in financial services history, with more than $10B of pent up demand fueling asset growth of the products since their January launches.
