The Gateway Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established by the Money Management Institute to build meaningful change in the financial services industry by advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
By tapping into MMI’s vast network of industry member firms, we can initiate sweeping changes that enable us to make this goal a reality by opening doors to underrepresented communities through preparation, education, and skill development.

in the financial services industry today.
You can provide a scholarship opportunity for a future fellow to attend an industry conference or participate in a professional development program, which can accelerate career growth.
Since 2020, the Gateway Foundation has funded 16 Executive IQ scholarships, five fellowships to the Black Women in Asset Management Conference, and five scholarships to MMI’s Academy. These important scholarships open doors for fellows to participate in opportunities that would not be sponsored otherwise. Prior fellows have been promoted, secured new positions, and provided mentorship and inspiration to others in the industry.

This site serves as an entry point for MMI member firms to expand their talent pool, while simultaneously providing pathways for leadership and career opportunities for individuals from underrepresented communities within the financial services industry.
Opening Doors boosts the efforts of the Gateway Foundation by bringing people together to clear the path for the next generation of underrepresented professionals in financial services.
Our Partnerships
The Gateway Foundation is proud to partner with First Tee, a nonprofit youth development organization – which began on Nov. 13, 1997, as a partnership among the PGA TOUR, LPGA, Masters Tournament, PGA of America, and USGA – to make golf affordable and accessible for all kids.
As First Tee introduced kids to the game, they also introduced a life skills curriculum that supported the development of values found within the game of golf, including honesty, integrity, perseverance, and respect. This learning experience helps foster inner strength, self-confidence, and resilience throughout their lives. In 2022 First Tee launched their alumni program to support life-long learning and professional development. The Gateway Foundation, a cause-inspired partner of First Tee, contributes to this mission by providing their alumni with industry awareness and career opportunities in financial services alongside professional development resources.
During the 2023 MMI Annual Conference, Sarit Abramowicz, First Vice President, Program Director of the Gateway Foundation, spoke about the Foundation's partnership with First Tee. Watch the following video to learn more:
